I wore a 1947 era navy blue rayon dress with navy wooden buttons that i got at the flea market,1940's suede babydoll pumps,gold 1940's bangle i got from a flea market, faux snakeskin purse from white house black market (its not mine its annies) and wonderful 1940's navy blue straw tilt hat with black veil from the tulsa vintage show and last but not least a pencil brooch from which a dear friend gave to me.Annie wore a late 1950's light blue striped sundress from Cheap thrills vintage,black vintage inspired suede pumps from dillards , in her hair she wore a pink chiffon hair scarf and bag is a 1930's black and gold crocheted purse that Mimi gave me for my birthday Don't have too many pictures but here is one of my two cousins and aunt. September Vintage Show

Today was the September vintage show and much to all the hype everyone made this time around its was kinda dead,but we did see are sweet friends Nola and Jayme,and also got a couple cute things,but here is what we wore today.....
I(annie) wore a 1940's black rayon crepe dress with peplum and blue pink and white scrolly design, to accesorize i wore a pink beaded bracelet,black satin 1940's box purse,and black suede pumps I (meera) wore a 1940's pink gown with moon and star print on bodice with black sequin platforms and a gold 1940's bracelet

Take a looksie at my Gaytees galoshes that I got in the mail yesterday. They have black rabbit fur on the trim and look like they have never been worn....now I just need to get my kitty cat some matching ones. Anyways tonight my mom, mimi, and my grandma got together and played some cards, ate crackerjacks, and sipped sparkling juice...ahhh lifes good.

I adore Virginia O Brien if you don't who she was, she was a popular singer and actress in the 1940's who was known for her humorous deadpan singing style with no facial expressions and very little movement ,she supposedly came in to this trademark by accident during a show when she became virtually paralyzed with stage fright,the audience thought it was hilarious and so she stuck with it. also we share the same birthday April 18th

Inspired

A few days ago i watched Cover girl(1944) starring Rita Hayworth, Gene Kelly .and co starring Eve Arden, and, i cannot get over the amazing outfits, i just keep watching it over and over again just so i can look at the gorgeousness of the beautiful doll hats, furs and wonderful 40's suits, but my favorite is Eve Arden with her great color combination's and little details like gold bangles and of course doll hats i'm totally obsessed with them, she definitely has inspired me.
